Back in the early 1990's, I inherited my grandfather's 1973 Swiss Bulova Acccutron Spaceview. I wore it for a number of years until the original 1.35V Mercury Oxide batteries were no longer available. The replacement 387s 1.55v caused the watch to run fast. Back then the resources were limited and had difficulty finding a place to service and adjust it at a reasonable price. I put the watch away but always had it in the back of my mind to have it repaired.
I started searching online and found a variety of resources and learned that it could be properly serviced to run with a modern battery. I found an Accutron service guy in the US and I sent my grandfathers to be serviced. Pleased to have it running again and having learned about other models, I bought another on eBay....and another.....
Many of the early purchases were conversions. Being a newbie, I bought spaceviews and others that I thought were correct, only to find out they were watches cobbled together from parts. I had used a number of sites for reference but many lacked a complete listing of correct spaceviews. My hope is to build a more comprehensive list with photographs to help others make informed decisions when looking for factory correct models.
